Happy New Year 2010!

Right....I know I'm a little late...but Happy New Year Friends! I haven't posted in quite some time, things have been a little crazy around here. First off, thank you ever so much for all of your prayers for my sweetheart. He did real well in 16" inches of snow...only got stuck twice! But he is safe and we are fine. Two days after my mom arrived, she had a severe asthma attack, and I had to call 911. They sent an ambulance and took her to the hospital straightaway. By the time I arrived (had to drive slowly-very slowly) they had her breathing much better and in a few hours released her. She is only now beginning to breath normally. She has what is called athletic asthma? She had one episode of this kind in the 80's, but other than that, she has no symptoms at all. Isn't that strange?

As she was on the mend from the asthma, we both got dreadful colds!! Honestly!!!!

Anyway, we are both doing well now, and each of us are happy to have that mess over with before the new year.

You prayers have been so effective...my husband didn't even catch a COLD!!! He was well protected~~thank you all!

The day began at -25 degrees...this afternoon it is 1 degree. We are in a deep freeze.

I just had to get out and get the birdies some nourishment, as it has been too icy to walk on the snow here. So here are the pretty little birds, happy to have some munchies!

Blessings all in this new year, and thank you again for your prayers for my hubby!!

Hugs~~~

P.S. Also a little table runner I made while recuperating!

  1. I'm glad you and your mom are better and that hubby was well covered in prayer. The table runner is just beautiful. It looks like springtime for sure. We need something like that to look at right now. We too are in a deep freeze and being hit with lots of snow too. Driving has been an adventure for sure. Take care!

  2. Happy New Year Sharon and Family! Glad everyone can breathe and survived the crazy season. There is no way I could survive a cold Christmas now! I think it was 20degrees Celsius on the 25th and that was a little cold. Love the little bits (from the trees) on the runner.

  10. Oh Sharon that is just too cold. We used to get weather like that, but thankfully we haven't experienced it in a few years now. I'm so sorry to hear about your mom and I know how scary that must have been.

  12. The table runner is delightful. I wish I had a little beach cottage... I would fill it with things like this. Lots of white and pale blue (I'm not even someone who particularly likes blue, but cottages demand it, don't you think?) and eclectic goodies. Clean lines, billowy sheers, YOUR quilts. Oh if only...

Thank you so much my darling adorable Sharon for your visit to Casa Hice and wonderful uplifting comment. Really, I treasure you and your sensibility. And your friendship.

Glad you and mom are on the mend. Stay warm!! Stay well!! Breathe easy!!
