~A Gooey Mess~

Hi All! I really don't know what has gotten into me lately....for 10 years I have used PINK for everything I truly, I did. I found it difficult if not impossible to create without using PINK! People have actually written to me, asking that I make baby boy quilts! FREAK!!! Sorry no, unless you think he might like pink??? Even my mom, who is my biggest supporter by the way, would ask me, "So what kind of pink fabric did you buy today?" I came to believe that maybe, just maybe I was in a color-time-warp! But lately I have been exploring with many different colors of fabric...well, mostly camel, tan, beige, white, blaaah blaaah blaaah. (smiling) But I've come to love those colors as well, particularly white. Now for something country...Well, sort of country, I guess...actually I'm not sure WHAT country is, (and yet I live in the country), anyway, here's a country-folk quilt..Now...back to pink & white!!! Oh how I've missed you! So here's the I losing it? Or do you get obsessed with colors and find that if looking at a color doesn't make you melt into a big gooey mess of hugs and kisses, it's just not a good color??? (Oh my...)
Here's wishing you a wonderful weekend~Don't forget to spring forward!! Hugs and Blessings~

  1. You are very funny my dear, I too also used to have a pink obsession, but I was cured of it after all the pink ribbons. Now my beloved pink gives me a shiver. Thank you for the lovely message on my blog, thank you for wrapping me up in one of your quilts, but this one made with your sweet words and prayers. I am sending you a big gooey mess of hugs and kisses, and prayers and wishes that pink will always stay your favorite color. Oh, one more thing, I love that photo of dog and man on the bed, makes me want to jump right in. Some dog pile you got there! I see you are blessed in every way that is important. hugs, gooey hugs, writergirl (deb)

  2. Yes I am into shades of pale green right now. Can't seem to get enough of it! Ha!
    Love your quilt!!
    PS By the still rules!!!

  3. I love the quilt and did remember to set the clock forward 1 hour. I'm off to church. Have a wonderful Sunday!

  4. This is my 3rd try at commenting today I lost the other 2 due to my poor internet connection. Sometimes it is good and sometimes not. I love the quilt and do some some shades of pink there. Not your usual, but beautiful just the same! Have a wonderful Sunday!

  5. your quilts are beautiful and I'm enjoying your blog as well....I love pink and roses but I also like the americana quilt you made to. I did my dining room in an americana theme and that quilt looks like it was made for the dining room bench I have...very nice work!

  6. Love the quilt! I love pink too. For a while I had lots of pink in my wardrobe, but I'm not sure it's my best color. It is still my fav color crayon. But when it comes to clothes, I've been branching out for a while now. :)

  7. You're so funny Sharon! I do love your country quilt!
I have colors that I just can't bring myself to use in anything too. I won't mention them hear, lest I hurt someone's feelings. I just gravitate to pinks as well, and soft aguas yellows, off whites and whites. I do love sepia and a few ecrus, but when I make pillows and throws, it must have pink in it.
    sending hugs your way...

  8. This blog is a great combination of suitable and useful information and well-written sentences that will certainly entice your sense and update you about new happening. Here I have found the information for which I was looking for long time. For more info visit

  9. I find my color choices change with my moods or the weather itself. I love shabby chicy colors but also love the primitive look as well. I'm really into dull whites, tea dye etc right now. I love the caramel quilt you have on your sidebar. Caramel cream... so soft and pretty. Hugs. tammy

  10. OMG!! Yep, it's funny how we tend to use our fav colours the most... I always know my favourite colours because I use up all that colour paint or some of my pencils end up stumps & others are virtually untouched LOL...

  12. G'morn Sharon ~ I am not sure where my comment went BUT here it is again. So love your beautiful quilts, they are so bright, awrm & full of beauty ... but loving pink would draw me first to that color. This quilt is darling & so rich in colors of tea & chocolates ... yum!
