~Thankful Heart~

On this day before Thanksgiving, I continued with a list that I began some time ago. A list of all of the good things for which I am grateful. Then it occurred to me, that it is easy to be thankful for the wonderful things that have happened throughout the year, but much harder to rejoice in the difficult things that have come my way. The trials that have strengthened me, situations that have lent to character building, and most importantly, compassion for others. These too, are a part of life to be thankful for, an integral piece of who I am. So...this Thankful day, I will take joy in the happy times as well as the sorrowful moments, knowing that the sorrow will lead me through the pathway of perseverance. "And We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose." Romans 8:28

Happy, Happy Thanksgiving, I am so grateful each and everyone you. May your tummies be full, your hearts even fuller. Blessings~

  1. You are so correct. It's not easy to be grateful for the trials in life, but they always always always lead us to something brighter. We gain strength, perspective, and are reminded that it's really not about the here and now. In the grand scheme of things, life provides us the road and it is up to us to choose how to follow it. Thank you for reminding us that there is much to be thankful for in all things.

I'm thankful to have met you, Sharon. And I hope we will be trading holiday greetings for many more years to come. XO

  2. Sharon, One of the hardest things I've had to learn is to lay down the bad and find a purpose in it for the future. It has not always been easy for me and truthfully, the more personal the harm the harder the journey. I have let go and will trust in Christ to carry me through. I had such a wonderful testimony yesterday and today for the first time in months I awoke with an absolute sense of "it's going to be okay Tammy, just trust in the Holy Spirit". I lost this for a long time because I was burried in one thing after another. I'm letting go. I'm moving forward in the moment and I am grateful for those who enrich my life daily. You lift me up. Thank you.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and to your family of two and four legged's! Tammy... hubs will start on the rug this holiday.. i'm so excited for him. hehe

  3. My tummy isn't allowed to be full! I want to lose a bit more weight. I've tweeted what I'm thankful for (for mom). But I'm thankful that I found you too! You are always so thoughtful and kind. (And you have a beautiful doggie!)

  4. I cling to that verse (Romans 8:28) a lot, Sharon; that and Jeremiah 32:27 (I am the Lord, the God of all mankind, is anything too impossible for me?)

it is easy to be thankful for the good things but harder to be thankful in all things, isn't it? great thoughts today Sharon

    enjoy your Thanksgiving :)

  5. Dear Sharon ~~ Great post about Thanksgiving and we sure do have a lot to be thankful for. Just to wake up every day and to have a roof over our heads and enough food to eat and to see trees, birds, animals, not to mention family and loved ones.
We don't actually celebrate it here in Australia, but I try to be thankful every day.
Thank you for your comments and I am glad you enjoyed the call centre
stories. It makes you wonder about some people.Take care,Love, Merle.

  7. I have had my share of difficult years and as I look back, I can see the stronger and better person I have become through those trials. If anything, the trials have made me more mindful of the good things in my life and that I need to give thanks in ALL circumstances. Blessings to you, Sharon and Happy Thanksgiving!
